Chevrolet introduced the original Stringray in 1963, the year of the 'Split-Window'. Over the next five years, Chevy produced Corvette models that were destined to become classics. The '67 427 is the most iconic of all. This beautiful preserved Corvette was refurbished around 2012 and was mostly garaged since then. Work consisted in replacing the engine and the transmission. Other than that, most components are original on the car and were carefully restored. No detail has been spared.
The beautiful body has virtually perfect gaps and was carefully prepped. It was then professionally refinished in two-stage Marina Blue (976) with a '427 'Stinger' hood, a perfect accent to this stunning coupe. Chrome and stainless are outstanding. Original chrome-covered side pipes, one-off Alumacraft grill and stunning new 17” Boyd Coddington Speedster rims complete the exterior package. The black vinyl interior has also beenmeticulously restored to original and is outstanding. Features include Vintage A/C, power window, smoked glass, new trim pads/panels and a raging Autosound Vette stereo system w/Bluetooth. Under the hood, the owner states that the coupe is powered by a Chevy 427/435bhp big-block - not the original engine 427, but an L71/L89.
The Rat is backed by 4-speed Richmond Super T-10 manual transmission w/new McLeod hydraulic clutch and posi-traction differential with 3.73:1 gears. The factory suspension has been completely rebuilt/upgraded with features that include Van Steel upper front A-arms, rear Smart struts w/2” offset trailing arms and adjustable rear camber rods. A spotless chassis is equipped with power steering and 4-wheel power disc brakes.
